Description

Cap: size 5-10cm; colour grey; shape convex, later flattened.

Gills: colour brown,pink; gills are seen to curve up and join the cap. They do not join onto the stem at all." class="glossary_link" href="/mushrooms/glossary#free">free; crowded.

Stem: length 6-10cm; width 1-1.5cm; colour white; bulbous base; large ring.

Spores: dark brown.

Flesh: colour white; discolours yellow - particularly at the base of the stem.

Habitat: found in a variety of woodland and scrub. Grows singly or in small groups.

Frequency: occasional.
