Description
Cap: 5-12cm Initially convex then expanding. Streaky pale olive green
Gills: White, gills are seen to curve up and join the cap. They do not join onto the stem at all." class="glossary_link" href="/mushrooms/glossary#free">free, crowded.
Stem: 6-12cm White with faint banding. Large hanging ring. White cup-like volva at base of stem.
Spores: White.
Flesh: White. Sickly smell developing after collection.
Habitat: On the ground in deciduous (or occasionally coniferous) woods.
Frequency: Common
