Description
Cap: 6-15cm Tawny with a purple tint. Initially concave with a clear gills in some species (e.g. the Web Caps)" class="glossary_link" href="/mushrooms/glossary#cortina">cortina. Later expanding flat with a broad umbo.
Gills: Adnate. Violet becoming cinnamon/purple as the spore mature.
Stem: Solid, often with a swollen base. Pale violet. Bruises dark purple.
Spores: Rust
Flesh: Pale violet.
Habitat: On the ground in mixed woodland.
Frequency: Frequent
