Description
Cap: 4-9cm Red or Pink. Initially globular, but quickly flattening and finally slightly depressed. May retain an in-rolled margin until fully expanded.
Gills: Adnexed and creamy white. Medium spaced.
Stem: Cylindrical, white, firm.
Spores: White
Flesh: White, but pink immediately beneath the cap cuticle. Taste hot and peppery.
Habitat: With Beech trees.
